A Glimpse into the Post-Pandemic workplace

Do you believe we will get “back to normal” when the pandemic is over?
If you do, its time to change your mindset and prepare to pivot if you want to be a viable player in the post-pandemic work environment. Pre-COVID19 work environments have been permanently disrupted.

There is no “getting back to normal”. The “next normal” is evolving. Post lockdown, both employers and employees will have to adapt and evolve to survive, and potentially thrive going forward.

The pandemic has been most hurtful to women in the workplace. Many of the jobs lost during the pandemic will never come back. And hybrid, non-standard, contingent work environments are evolving and here to stay. More on this topic in a later post.

Have you given much thought to how you need to adapt to survive and more important, THRIVE, in the post-pandemic workplace? It’s something to think about, isn’t it?

My first career was as a west coast hidden figure in aerospace, where I rose thru the ranks from engineer to executive. A feat few people of color were able to do then, or now. For the past 20 years, my pursuits have been in the areas of leadership skills development and advocating for STEM participation. I serve as an executive coach and trusted advisor to emerging and seasoned leaders primarily in technology, finance, and biotech industries. Currently, I support a number of coaching platforms that work with senior women executives from major corporations.

The organization I am most proud to be associated with is Chief where I support senior women leaders as an executive coach and peer group facilitator. My goal is to become an expert on women rising in organizations and being successful post-covid. My intention is to use this platform to share what I’m learning about future of work issues to help readers survive and THRIVE going forward.
